Control over the optical properties of defects in solid-state materials is necessary for their application quantum technologies. In this study, we demonstrate, from first principles, how to tune these via formation defect polaritons an cavity. We show that polaritonic splitting shifts absorption energy lower polariton much higher than can be expected a Jaynes–Cummings interaction. also find intensity increases by several orders magnitude, suggesting possible route toward overcoming phonon-limited single-photon emission centers. These findings are result effective continuum electronic transitions near lowest-lying transition dramatically enhances strength light–matter expect our spur experimental investigations strong coupling between centers and cavity photons applications
